Create and Edit Your Indeemo Project

This article guides you through setting up and configuring your In-the-Moment Project, from creating a new project to cloning a task list.

Create Your Project

  • Navigate to the Manage Projects screen.
  • Click the + New Project button.
  • Choose In-The-Moment Project or Video Import Only (see more information on this below).

Configure Project Details

These details are for you and your team and are not visible to your respondents.

  • Recruitment Method: Select your preferred recruitment method.
  • Number of Respondents: Enter the total number of participants you expect to recruit for your project. This is used for your own reference and can be changed at any time.
  • Incentive: Add the incentive amount per respondent. This is used for your own reference.
  • Customised Respondent Registration Page: Enable this feature and add a short, descriptive welcome message for respondents.
  • Opt-in Consent: Enable this optional feature and upload a PDF of your research terms and conditions. You can learn more here(link).

Set Up Target Groups

Target Groups are used to segment your respondents. We recommend 1-4 groups per project.

  • Add a Target Group: Click the + button next to "Target Group(s)" or click the "Add another Target Group" link.
  • Name: Give your group a name (not visible to respondents).
  • Language: Select the language for accurate video transcription.
  • Schedule: Set the fieldwork start and end dates/times. These times will automatically adjust to the respondent's local timezone.
  • Target Group Settings: Enable additional features as needed, such as Experience Graph, Automated Video Transcription, and Mobile Screen Recording.
    • Desktop Screen Recording (DSR)
      • If you'd like your respondents to screen record on a desktop, they can log in to web.indeemo.com > tap Task List > tap the Task > Click ‘Screen Recording’ at the New Response and follow the steps to install the Indeemo Extension.

Build Your Task Lists

A Task List organizes the activities for your respondents. You can create a new task list or clone an existing one.

  1. Create a New Task List
  1. Add a Task List: Click the + button next to "Task Lists".
  2. Name: Give your task list a clear name, especially if you have multiple.
  3. Task List Type: Choose one of the four task release types (All at Once, Scheduled, Sequential, or Sequential + "No sooner than"). This cannot be changed once the project is created.
  4. Connect Target Groups: Select the Target Group(s) that will see this task list.
  5. Build your Task List:
    • Introduction: Welcome respondents, introduce the project, and outline the tasks.
    • Tasks: Click "Click here to add your first Task" to begin.
    • Task Title: Add a short, descriptive title (e.g., "1. Daily Diary Task").
    • Task Description: Explain the purpose of the task and what is required.
    • Required Response: Specify the type of upload required (e.g., Video, Photo, Note, Screen Recording).
    • Completion Message: Add a thank-you message for your participants.
  1. Clone an Existing Task List

Cloning a task list duplicates an entire task list from the current or a previous project, which is useful for creating variations.

  1. Create a Target Group: Ensure you have a target group ready to be assigned to the new cloned task list.
  2. Clone: When adding a new task list, choose the Clone an existing Task List option.
  3. Select & Save: Choose the project and task list you want to clone from, then select the new Target Group(s) that will get this cloned task list.
  4. Edit: Remember to rename the new task list and edit any dates and tasks as needed.

Editing an Existing Task List

You can edit a task list after a project is created, but avoid editing once fieldwork is live.

  • Go to Manage Projects.
  • Click the Edit Project icon on the project card.
  • From the left navigation menu, click on the task list you wish to edit. The selected task list will be highlighted in pink.
  • Make your changes and click Save.

Video Import Projects

Indeemo offers two project types: In-the-Moment and Video Import Only.

  • In-the-Moment: This is a traditional Indeemo project where respondents complete tasks using the Indeemo app. With the Video Import option enabled, you can also import interviews (e.g., IDIs) directly into a respondent’s profile to analyze them alongside their in-the-moment app uploads.
  • Video Import Only: This type of project serves as a repository for your interviews and videos, providing a space for transcription and analysis. In this case, respondents do not use the Indeemo app.

How to Import Video/Audio Files

You can import video files from your computer, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom. The dashboard accepts .mp4, .mov, .mp3, .aiff, .flac, .m4a, .acc and .ac3 files up to a maximum size of 2GB.
