What is the 'Opt-in Consent' Feature?

The Opt-in Consent feature seamlessly integrates your custom consent forms and terms of service directly into the respondent onboarding process. This provides a transparent, verifiable record of a participant's informed consent, helping you meet legal and ethical compliance standards like GDPR.

Purpose

  • Build Trust: By requiring active opt-in, you give participants full control over their data, which builds a strong foundation of trust.

  • Ensure Compliance: The feature provides a clear, auditable record that participants have agreed to your terms, helping you meet legal obligations.

  • Streamline Your Workflow: Manage the entire consent process digitally within Indeemo, eliminating the need for manual signatures or third-party tools.

How It Works: A Step-by-Step Guide

  • Step 1: Enable & Upload: Enable the "Opt-in Consent" feature during project setup and upload your consent form as a PDF file.

  • Step 2: Participant Registration: When a respondent signs up, they are presented with your PDF.

  • Step 3: Accept or Reject: The respondent must actively choose to Accept or Reject the terms.

  • Step 4: Automatic Onboarding: Only respondents who explicitly accept your terms are successfully added to your project.

Recruitment Methods

  • Available with: Customized Respondent Registration Pages and Indeemo's Panel.

  • Not supported with: Recruiting respondents directly via their email address (as this method bypasses the registration flow).

What to Include in Your Consent PDF

To ensure your consent form is clear and easy for participants to understand, consider including:

  • Project Purpose: A brief description of the research and its goals.

  • Participation Details: What is expected of respondents, including time commitment and types of activities.

  • Data Use: A transparent explanation of how responses and personal data will be used, stored, and shared.

  • Confidentiality: A statement about anonymity, data protection, and whether data will be shared with third parties.

  • Voluntary Participation: Clarification that participation is voluntary and participants may withdraw at any time.

  • Contact Information: How to contact the researcher or support team with questions.

PDF Formatting Guidelines for Mobile Readability

To ensure your document is easy for all participants to read on mobile, follow these guidelines:

  • Use a standard, easy-to-read font (e.g., Arial, Calibri).

  • Use a minimum font size of 26 pt for titles and 24 pt for body paragraphs.

  • Create the document in Google Docs or Microsoft Word.

  • Export as a PDF and upload it via the Edit Project screen.

This feature is designed to give you peace of mind and provide a more transparent experience for your participants.
